I purchased this 790IT blood pressure monitor because of its ability to store test information for two people. I was previously using an Omron 705 unit which worked very well but to retrieve one's test data you had to print it out and there was no way to determine who's data was who's. The 790 comes with a companion piece of software that will let me down load my data to my PC. Once the data is on the PC you can review it in several formats, I prefer the graph.
That is the good news now the undesirable side of things. The cuff has a stiff inner liner that makes it into a "U" shape. Both my Wife and I find it very difficult to get the cuff secured properly. This we could probably live with but in addition the unit would ERROR out and stop the test cycle. It took me a while to figure out that the problem was the fact that the cuff was to loose fitting. Even if it is tight if you have your arm laying on anything, like say a pillow, the unit will most likely error.
I have solved the issue for us by using the cuff supplied with the "705" unit. To do this I had to make an adaptor for the inflation hose since not all of their cuffs are compatible. Omron is a great company and I have specified a lot of their products in my engineering but this CUFF is not their best work.

We had a Omron automatic blood pressure monitor for years but it finally died. My wife tends to have high blood pressure so after some investigation I bought the Omron HEM-790IT to replace the old one. It is easy to set up and use but what I particularly like is the feature that allows you to download the data to your computer where it keeps track of the readings by date and time and allows you to print out a graph of the readings for any given time period. It keeps track of readings for two users.
My wife took it to her doctor's office and compared the readings to whatever they use, and they said it was reading a few points high, however, I'm not sure if theirs is calibrated. Anyway, we are very pleased with the unit.

Accurate and simply to use. Has a "true value" option that takes three successive readings for an average. Downloads readings into a DB with a software package for generating graphical displays in several different formats. Your doctor will love you!...

I purchased this machine due to the software that allows you to offload the data to your computer for tracking and giving my doctor a record of my BP. The machine seems to be very accurate...if you get the cuff tight enough when putting it on. The cuff is different than other Omron BP machines I've owned in the past and takes some getting used to. It is not as easy to put on by yourself as previous machines but with some practice it works fine. If you have another user to help with putting on the cuff you will get the most accurate BP readings.
