I refer to Ms. Pollack's brillant book, Seventy-eight Degrees of Wisdom, time and time again. It gives wonderful sight to the seeker, and speaks of the timeless connections to God & Universe through the study of the tarot. There is an eloquence in her writing that make for several AHA! moments, just great!!!

I love this book! Its exciting to read about each cards character. Rachel Pollack really goes deep into each Card and it all seems to just make sense. As she unravels each card it feels as if you are right there meeting them and getting to know them. Very helpful.

I HAVE READ HAINDL'S TAROT FROM THIS WRITTER AND HER DEGREE OF INTERESTING AND WISDOM (??)DECREASED TO BORING...IT IS ONE MORE BOOK DESCRIBING TAROT WITH THE SAME GOOD INFORMATION ANY TAROT BOOK CONTAINS, NOTHING i COULD CALL WISDOM, I EXPECTED MUCH, MUCH MORE FROM HER...IT IS EVEN BORING, NO COLOR, NO ATRACTIVE SETTING, JUST PLAIN DOCUMENT WRITING...AND WISDOM,,,WELL MY CONCEPT OF WISDOM WAS NOT FULLFILLED WITH HER BOOK,,,,I INSIST, HER HAINDL'S MANUALS ARE OUTSTANDING, SO MY EXPECTATIONS WERE HIGH AND I READ THE WHOLE BOOK EXPECTING THAT WISDOM (WHICH IS NOT SYNONIMUS OF INFORMATION) IT NEVER CAME...I DID NOT LIKE IT!!!

I didn't have to let the chance to post my review about the book "Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom" by Rachel Pollack. As it's said, this book is definitely a "must" for all those would like to get serious with the study of Tarot.
Today most of Tarot interpreters go into one of the two most used directions of Tarot: most of tarot students take the road to the most vastly know use for Tarot: divination, while a second group use the Tarot as a tool for meditation and study of the inner self and considering the first group as superficial. The best quality of this book is that its author conciliates both ideas, giving the whole and incredible possibilities that the study and practice of Tarot can give, which results in a better comprehension of the Mayor and Minor Arcana and the roles they play in our lives in many ways. This book, is helpful for any person who's taking the study of Tarot seriously, don't matter wheter you're new or experienced, by reading its pages you'll find out always new perspectives that eventually will help to enhance your skills as a interpreter of the Arcana.
If you're hesitating about buying this book...Know for sure that every cent is worth it. You'll get much and useful information about what you really wanna know about Tarot: meanings of each of the 78 cards, comparisons with some of the mostly well known decks, lay outs for readings (including the Tree of Life spread and how to interpret it), etc.
I really enjoyed this book, and in my opinion as many readers, this is the "Bible" of the Tarot for we, the readers of a new century.
