I rated this item at 5 stars because it does exactly what it is advertised to do. I made the decision to work at losing weight. I had been on the weight watchers program, and had started spending some time on an eliptical trainer. I was having some success at this. Yes, I know all about the "nasty" effects. I tried this product back when it was Xenical and was twice the mgs. Lets just say the side effects back then were *explosive* but the weight loss was amazing. I stopped using it because I switched jobs and could no longer be close to a restroom at all times if needed.

I have never been a heavy person, but after a long illness, I gained about fify pounds. I started using Alli approximately one year ago. I followed the program, excercising, eating right, and taking Alli. I have not only lost the fifty pounds, but a few extra. I have learned to eat a healthy diet and to continue excercising. I still use Alli, but only when needed. I highly recommend Alli.

My experience on Alli has been great. I've been using it since Nov 2007 and have reached my goal weight. The side effects mentioned by some haven't effected me therefore I have to wonder if the people who have experience discharge, etc were actually following the diet plan or if they continued to eat high fat diets? I will continue to use Alli to maintain my weight.
