Prilosec "OTC-Delayed-Release" saves the day for me on numerous occasions when I get heartburn. I am prone to this type of problem while I am on chemo for cancer. This drug also fights acid in your stomach; and that's a big help! I have tried Tums, Pepcid AC, Zantac 150, and Alka-seltzer. Often all in the same day. Always my acid reflux and stomach trouble came back in just a few hours.
This is the ONLY non Rx medicine I have found that truely works and lasts for 24 hrs. Yes, it seems expensive. However Rx products such as Aciphex and Protonix are over $100 per month.
