I thought about getting this but after reading all the complaints about accuracy I decided to stick to my usual method of measuring % body fat. I use a freely available XLS spreadsheet that automates the Army DA Form 5500 and DA Form 5501 method of measuring % body fat for recruits and enlistees. All you have to do is measure your neck and waist circumference (hips also for women), enter your height and age and weight (though this does not enter into the calculations) and the spreadsheet will give ... I wanted something to give me a reference point as I have recently started a regular excercise program. I really wanted something to give me an idea of where I am at and where I am heading. It is doing that and gives me encouragement at the sametime.

According to the Omron Fat Analyzer, today I have 23.7% fat and a BMI of 21.4. A card that is included with the monitor says this is on the low side of the "normal" range for a woman around 40 years old (which would be me).
This is my result from the first thing in the morning, after peeing and before drinking coffee. I held my arms at the recommended 90 degree angle, covered the electrodes correctly and didn't wiggle around. This is almost the same as my result yesterday (fat of 23.4%), ... Read More

The OMRON Fat loss monitor is a wonderful tool when monitoring weight loss with loss % of fat. This tool is silmilar to the ones used at Bally's Fitness Clubs.
