Product Description:
Designed specifically for Rick's travel audience (or users) these maps highlight choice destinations throughout Italy, from the Alpe di Suisi to Sicily, in a colorful, easy-to-use format on high-quality paper that lasts over many trips:

* Cuts the Clutter: While big cities are left for navigational purposes, this map is otherwise stripped clean and filled in only with places that matter to travelers. * Guidebook-Friendly: At a glance, all the places you read about in Rick's Italy, Rome, Venice and Florence guidebooks pop right out in a crisp, easy-to-read format * Rail or Road: Includes important train lines and highways (and ferry routes) for easy route-planning, no matter how you'll get around. * The Back's Even Better: The reverse side includes detailed city-center maps of Rome, Venice and Florence, locating sights, hotels and restaurants from Rick's city guidebooks.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great tour guide
We went to Italy in 2007 and used this book, it helped us out a lot. Knowing when things like museums and other sites would be open and when not is a big help. The night time walk through Rome that appears in this book was one of the highlights of our trip, it was absolutely beautiful.
The only detail is that the places that we chose from the book to go eat that were supposedly for travelers on a budget weren't that inexpensive.
It's a good book to have on your trip to Italy, but you ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Rick Steves guides are a must for us
We value the Rick Steves guide books as an important part of our travels. We use them in planning the trip and also as a guide to sites, attractions, dining and hotels once we arrive at our destination. The city walks and guide to pertinent museums are also helpful. We like the fact that the books are updated yearly, at least in part. The other travel books out there don't do this for the most part.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - MAP REVIEW: Not too bad as a reference
I put "MAP REVIEW" in my title, as it seems that most of the reviews here are for the book? How does that make sense?

This map was good for us as it covered our itinerary - Venice, Florence, Siena, and Rome. The landmarks were helpful, as well as the designations for pedestrian areas and shopping areas. The map is fairly heavy paper, so it will last even if it's not laminated.

My main complaint is the map didn't have enough street level information. So if you're navigating ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - not too scray
1/2 of the cities i visited were not on his book. took it to italy with me, left it in the bag most of the time.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Must for Travel in Italy
Rick Steves is nerdy but he does his homework. Don't think about planning a trip to Italy without this book. Read the book before going to Italy and keep it in your carry-on when traveling. I'd like even more help with places to stay and to eat but the book still proved to be indispensable.
