Product Description: There is a gremlin within you. He is the narrator in your head.
He tells you who you are, and he defines and interprets your every experience. He wants you to feel bad, and he pursues this loathsome task by means of sophisticated maneuvers: just when you feel you've out-argued or overcome him, he changes his disguise and his strategy. He's the sticky sort -- grapple with him and you become more enmeshed. What he hates is simply being noticed. That's the first step to his taming.
If you have a low tolerance for self-help books or they haven't worked for you, here is a more creative yet practical approach to solving life's problems. Through the powerful metaphor of the gremlin, presented so imaginatively by Richard Carson's writing and Novle Rogers's artwork, you will find ways to identify and banish the tenacious, self-defeating aspects of your personality.

Was slightly dissapointed in this book. Alot of the book was a hodge-podge of other self-help book tactics that I'd read over the years. The breathing exercises were useful but can be found in countless other books as well. The cover was cute though.
If you want a better self-help book read Napolean Hill's timeless classic "Think and Grow Rich" or "Whats Holding you back?" by Sam Horn.

The lifecoach calls it the Saboteur. This book explores the problem of our powerful and deeply internalized voices that tell us what we can and cannot do,what we do and don't deserve to have ... The voice that keeps you awake or wakes you up at 2am is that gremlin described. I have started using the taming technicques and wish I had learned how to notice, decide and choice options years ago.

I have read the book several times and keep going over the chapter on awareness. It is the most helpful information in the book and very practical. Mr. Carson presents the "gremlin" as a means to convey these ideas, so take it with a grain of salt.
In truth this book has led me to search for others on the same subject and as such has been tremendously valuable.

This is a great book for readers who are willing to engage in some potentially serious self exploration with a real sense of humor. In the end there is no right or wrong way to "do" self exploration. The important thing is that we do it.
Carson offers some excellent strategies, insights and suggestions for raising awareness around the self talk (Gremlin) that holds us back from achieving our full potential. I particularly enjoy and appreciate the reminders to simply observe our own process ... Read More
